Camp Resilience Receives $6,000 Donation from The Honorable Few Detachment 1302

This past weekend, Camp Resilience was honored to receive a generous $6,000 donation from The Honorable Few, Capt. J.J. Harris Detachment 1302 of the Marine Corps League in Massachusetts.

The check was presented to Jeff during a special gathering, surrounded by members of the Detachment. It was a meaningful moment that reflects the strong support and shared mission between our organizations.

Supporting Those Who Serve

The Marine Corps League is dedicated to preserving the traditions of the United States Marine Corps, strengthening the bond among Marines and their families, and supporting those who have worn the Eagle, Globe and Anchor. Their commitment to service, patriotism, and volunteerism is evident in everything they do.

The Honorable Few Detachment is one of 28 Marine Corps League detachments in Massachusetts. It includes both Marine Corps Veterans and Associate Members who work together to support Veterans past, present, and future. Their Riding Platoon plays an important role in raising awareness at events throughout the region.

Honoring a Hero, Capt. Jennifer J. Harris

The Detachment proudly honors Captain Jennifer J. Harris, USMC, whose legacy of service continues to inspire.

A 1996 graduate of Swampscott High School, she went on to attend the United States Naval Academy and was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the United States Marine Corps in 2000. After completing The Basic School in Quantico and flight training in Pensacola, she earned her Wings of Gold in 2002.

She later joined Marine Medium Helicopter Squadron HMM-364, known as the Purple Foxes, and deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. As a CH-46 Sea Knight pilot, she served as a Casualty Evacuation pilot, flying into dangerous combat zones to evacuate injured Marines and civilians.

Captain Harris completed three tours in Iraq and was killed in action on February 7, 2007, when her aircraft was struck by enemy fire.

In her honor, the Detachment continues to host annual events such as motorcycle rides, cornhole tournaments, and golf tournaments to fund scholarships for local students, carrying forward her commitment to service.

This generous donation will directly support Camp Resilience programs for Veterans and First Responders. These retreats provide a space for connection, healing, and renewed strength.

We are incredibly grateful to The Honorable Few Detachment 1302 for their support and for the work they do every day to serve others.

Thank you for standing with us and helping us continue this mission.
