Recapping Winterfest 2026

Updated: 1 day ago

On Saturday, February 21st, our community came together for an unforgettable day at Winterfest — and what a day it was! From friendly competition and incredible chili to generous bidding and snow-filled fun, Winterfest was a powerful reminder of what happens when a community rallies around a mission.

Most importantly, the event helped raise funds and awareness to support our programs serving Veterans, First Responders, and their loved ones.

We want to extend a huge THANK YOU to Beans & Greens Farm for championing Camp Resilience and helping bring Winterfest to life. Chris Collias went above and beyond to raise awareness, share our mission, and make this event such a success.

We are also incredibly grateful to:

  • Lakes FM

  • Gilford Rotary Club

Your partnership and support mean more than you know. The energy, enthusiasm, and generosity throughout the day were truly inspiring — and yes… we’re already looking forward to next year!

Human Sled Dog Race Results:

One of the highlights of the day was our always-hilarious, high-energy Human Sled Dog Race. The creativity, teamwork, and sportsmanship were next level!

🏆 1st Place: The Flying Potatoes (also won Best Costume!)

🥈 2nd Place: Ridge Berry Racers

🥉 3rd Place: Run Like the Winded

Congratulations to all of our teams and thank you for being such great sports. The laughs, the wipeouts, the determination...

Our Silent Auction was another huge success! Congratulations to all of the high bidders and thank you to the many businesses and individuals who generously donated items.

Your participation helped support both Gilford Rotary and Camp Resilience programming, directly benefiting the Veterans and First Responders we serve.

Chili Cook-Off Champions:

The competition was fierce, the flavors were bold, and the turnout was incredible - with 19 contestants and over 100 tasters showing up in support of Camp Resilience.

Congratulations to our top three:

🥇 Konky's Creative Kitchen

🥈 Keith Sheppard

🥉 Lakes Region BBQ

Thank you to every single contestant who stirred the pot (literally!) and to everyone who came out to taste and vote.

A special thank you to the Model T Snowmobile Club for spending Sunday giving rides and raising additional funds for Camp Resilience. Your time and generosity is appreciated.

Winterfest isn’t just about snow, races, or chili, it’s about community. It’s about coming together in support of those who have given so much in service to others.

To everyone who attended, volunteered, competed, donated, sponsored, or simply showed up to cheer - thank you. Because of you, Camp Resilience can continue providing critical wellness programming and support for our Veterans, First Responders, and their families.

We are tremendously grateful. It was so much fun. And we cannot wait to do it again next year.

1st Place Winners of the Human Sled Dog Race - The Flying Potatoes
